Wednesday July 4

7:30pm    Saritah
She delivers a potent combination of feminine spirit, conscious lyrics and heartfelt melodies whilst embodying a unique union of roots, reggae, soul, acoustic and dancehall....with a skookum bunch of musicians.

8:30pm    Towers and Trees
This 4 piece indie-rock band has always been a heart-driven project, a quality that has set them apart... ...from their scrappy, home-recorded debut and the viral single it spawned, to the heady anthems of sophomore release The West Coast, every song is packed with an honesty and earnestness that is increasingly rare in this age of digital consumption! In a way, their sound reflects the rugged, natural beauty of their home on Vancouver Island British Columbia.

7:30pm     Daniel Champagne
‘Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band, Champagne is just magical’.

8:30pm   Band of Rascals
Victoria based with roots in the Cowichan Valley, some of the finest foot stompin, hoot'n n holler'n, hoe down, craze driven, tasty blues born nuts’n’bolts rock n roll that you'll find this side of the country...and in our city square tonite.

Wednesday July 18

7:30pm   Calum Graham
ecently named one of the World’s Top 30 Guitarists under 30 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine, his signature playing style has enthralled millions of listeners on Youtube and Spotify which has led to tours across America, Europe, and China. Calum plays both the Acoustic as well as the Harp Guitar in his live set and his original melodies are guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings.

8:30pm   Leeroy Stagger
A Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter raised in rural British Columbia, (Cowichan Valley for awhile)  Stagger worked in several local bands until gaining attention from acts such as Hot Hot Heat and Carolyn Mark. Reinventing himself as a singer-songwriter, he has released 11 studio recordings to date and now signed with True North Records touring North America and Europe endlessly.

Wednesday July 25

7:30pm    Rae Spoon
Rae Spoon is an award-winning Canadian musician, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and author. They have released eight solo albums spanning folk, indie rock and electronic genres over the past twelve years and have toured across Canada and internationally. Rae was the subject and composer of the score for the National Film Board–produced musical-documentary My Prairie Home, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2014. They have been nominated for two Polaris Prizes, a Lambda Literary Award, a Western Canadian Music Award, a CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award and a MOTHA Transgender Musician of the Year Award.

8:30pm   The Honey Tongues - Collective
Swamp Opera‘ – a new distinct genre that combines Americana roots grit and indie swing with soulful harmonies and beat-boxing.  Crafting delicate folk arrangements and stomping dance numbers, the band embraces a wide palette – from accordion to saxophone to mandolin to mouth percussion – to express the ancient soul of the modern era.  Whether it’s songs about shadows, earth magic, grimey handshakes or lovers old and new, this band of many faces will show you them all.

Wednesday August 1

7:30pm   Non Stop Talk
A young indie rock band from Campbell River and Port Alberni now based out of Victoria that combine rock, funk and jazz to create a unique sound that'll get you on your feet.

8:30pm   Downtown Mischief
A collective of island musicians, sometimes 7. sometimes 8, even known to have 9 show up to bring an infectious funk based brand of dance music that utilizes hip hop / horn section arrangements /get out of town rhythm section as well as vocalists and lyrics that move the audience to that dancing frenzy...supplyin’ the grooves to get peeps to bust out their favourite moves.


All of these scheduled musical events are designed to bring community together to celebrate our diverse local / Canadian and international music scenes, to give the opportunity to meet our neighbours, share a common experience and hopefully be able to now greet each other with a friendly smile on any future happen chance connections. We are proving that downtown Duncan and the Cowichan Valley is... ‘a rather fun place to be’.
