11:50am Della Rice - welcoming prayers

Noon Dennis and Andy - no finer way to start a festival than with these two performers, fine tunage and banter putting  smiles on faces- and they wrote a song about the 39 Days

1pm  Chuck McCandless   -a mainstay of folk music, this Irish singer / songwriter boated from Ireland and landed up in Manitoba and who now calls the valley home, was there in the beginnings of the Winnipeg Folk Festival and uses his vocals and long necked banjo in a Pete Seeger -ish kinda way 

3pm  Ronen  & Kate    - yes, we are presenting not only an excellent  accordion player and  teacher, his singing wife will be joining him as well       

4pm  Steve Cutler  - a local singer/songwriter who chooses some of the finest songs to cover when not presenting his own tunes      

5pm  Local Lovers   - wife and husband team, she writes and sings the songs and he brings on the rhythms to guide them

6pm  Rad Mammals – local duo focused on Reid’s great songwriting skills with Alan Cameron on drums pushing the songs along

7pm  Porter Brothers- local farm country-rock band has been a hit every year and so we figured what a good way to end the first day in the park

11am  Zumba with Roslyn – time for great exercising to funk/disco beats to for another year - what a way to work up a sweat and benefit from it,

Noon  Simon Sayz  - a regular to the festival,   with a voice smooth like sandpaper he brings passion to the great alt-folk songs he chooses  to cover                          

1pm    Stockstill & Rose  -from Whitehorse, Yukon, Mike Stockstill on banjo and Amelia Rose Slobogean on fiddle and vocals playing their self-described “Northern Gypsy Bluegrass”             

2pm       Turnip the Beat  - local band that wants to make it easy for people to dance and so play some great tunes just to do that

3pm    Donny Boyd and Fine Company   - this fine singer/songwriter from Nanaimo has some very cool, fine company and some very cool fine tunage

4pm    Katrina Kodoski Trio- coming up from Sooke, this singer/songwriter also wrote Cougar Annie Tales, the people’s popular award fringe festival performance

5pm    Josh Gellman Band- having just released a new LP this gentleman brings most of it to the stage for all to hear ‘live’

6pm    Rockoon - local rockers that help you party, and hang out, with a well dressed band

7pm    Tesser – local, serious, rock cover band, great vocals, funtastic band members-bring your dancing shoes

Sun. June 28th

Noon Brass, Wind & Rhythm – 14 piece community swing band to start off the day, ya, that’s the way to do it

1pm  Harmonica Band - people from the valley get together to form the harmonica band so as to bring smiles to your faces and theirs

2pm  Ukelele Orchestra - more people in the valley enjoying music by performing, this time on ukuleles  

3pm  K-Tones - from Saltspring Island , exploring flute with keyboards while performing to their self-created backing tracks, quite interesting

4pm  Steluta -Romanian for “little star”, plays an absolute constellation of musical styles! From Romany songs to lively Greek and Eastern European folk dances, interspersed with a bit of Irish as well as distinctive original tunes and occasionally “classical” ones, this acoustic quartet from Victoria shines brightly

5pm    Marianne Grittani / Rose Birney- guitar/mandolin/vocals -well-crafted songs are filled with intelligence and soul, embracing common themes like love, loss, home, road adventures, and hopes for humanity—all in a way uniquely their own.     

6pm  The Ecclestons  - known for their infectious humour, joyfulness  and harmony, this Victoria based band has a massive Celtic and Canadian repertoire with all three players being excellent songwriters             

7pm  Daniel Cook and the Radiators Victoria’s roots- country island rock has a slight pop feeling, their original approach to songwriting helps us appreciate life just a bit better-their deeply rooted West Coast sound is an eclectic blend of folk, funk and country roots music.

Noon Dennis Atkins  -  been a regular lunch hour show since we started this festival, his countrified approach to roots music wins people’s hearts - come listen why      

1pm   Late Kate  -  she just has a way about the way she performs her well chosen cover tunes with the occasional original

2pm   Lennon – local guy is a great songwriter and has been a mainstay in the always growing island hip hop scene

3pm   Forte School of Music - the music school upstairs on Station Street brings along some of their braver students to showcase their bestest abilities

4pm  Yoke -local guys on drums/guitar/bass and flute showcasing their original material –quite interesting to witness – think Mark-Almond Band with a bit more funk

5pm   Sarah Segal-Lazar - ignites the country music and Americana music scene / folk and country at its best are just some of thangs being said about this folk country singer/songwriter

6pm   Malakai   - a home grown talent extraordinaire, he is maturing at an awesome rate and is making big waves wherever he performs his original tunes (and picks the odd good cover tune  as well)

7pm   Claire Coupland   -this lady has been expanding her career throughout Canada as a proven singer/songwriter by touring and performing in festivals across the country

Noon  Andy McCormack – has a wonderful way of engaging his audiences and usually covers tunes you just might want sing along with

1pm   Jonny and Derrick - from Sooke  they play a mix of classic rock / blues / folk / and originals – Derricks guitar adds some jazzy undertones to Jonny Mack’s originals

2pm   La Vie Ensemble - passionately embracing the fusion of folk-pop-jazz, utilizing music as a vehicle to delve into the intricate tapestry of human emotions.

3pm   Kathy White Dancers- such dedication and commitment to witness from these young students

4pm   JaBlu –Terry Wicks has musical friends that join him to perform many of his original blues tunes

5pm   Lazy Mike & the Argyle Jets - laying down the rockin' grooves to fill your soul and get you shakin' what your mama gave you on the dance floor

6pm   David Gogo- solo - the rockin’ multi nominated Juno blues guitar player has an unplugged side to him as well- ya, you should be there

7pm   Deb Rhymer Band – been hosting the Victoria blues jam for years cause she can, yes, she is a dynamite ambassador for the blues genre and brings together some very fine players as her host band

Wed. July 1st –Canada Day

Noon  Mbira Spirit -starting off another Canada Day with intercultural roots- a Zimbabwean singing country music with soulful glee

1pm     Ronen  & Kate   -now the accordion is a very fine instrument and Ronan actually teaches it and with his wife they make it all sound so funtastic

2pm     Hill 60-original tunes delivered quite sufficiently / efficiently by this valley 5 piece acoustic band – they are a treat

3pm     Tropic Mayhem - yeppir, time to get on the dance floor with these valley favourites- wear your best Hawaiian  shirts and make sure to kick those shoes off , let that grass tickle your feet

4pm      Barry’s Fault -4 piece original folk / indie pop that caught our ear at a Dress Rehearsal Tuesday (open mic) at the Duncan Showroom- we believe they have something going on for their music

4:20pm Canada Day Cake Sharing – line up at the corner of the train station –thank you once again to SuperStore for the cakes

5pm      Ryan McMahon- from Ladysmith, he has toured Canada extensively as a singer/songwriter winning the hearts of all he entertains - has been an opener for various Burton Cummings tours gives you an idea of his prowess

6pm     The New Westerners - creep-folk/alt-country four piece from right here in the valley - their show weaves through many emotions, from quiet to loud, and gentle to fierce.

7pm    McCandless Family Band –  Chuck and his family are of Irish descent and it comes thru in their foot tappin’ sing along musical journeys of originals and covers – you just might find yourself on the dance floor

Thurs. July 2nd

Noon   Anneda – this lady can sing and after a year of  having given birth to her son, and with some nurturing, she is now hitting the stage again – she sings originals and some fine covers of well known songs

1pm    Stephen Bell – Lake Cowichan lad writes some good songs and usually those songs are heard with a band on stage, today he is solo, songs stripped down to when their written 

2pm    Neil Trett- came up from Victoria to play some of his tasty tunes he wrote, maybe even a recognizable cover – there is a wonderful bohemian feel to this guy

3pm    Lester & Damian -back again cause they is sooo good – Lester Quitzau is a real fine award winning blues based guitarist  combining with Damian Graham, an extremely unique drummer that  intuitively takes us to new places where no other music dare travel, most enjoyable

4pm    Q Brooke Bachand & Charlie Gannon- Q and Charlie create concerts that are both electrifying and intimate — weaving traditional tunes, politically charged songs, and heartfelt ballads into performances filled with virtuosity, authenticity, and genuine connection

5pm   The Ranters – from the valley, vocal harmonies with auto harp, with guitar or mandolin presenting some originals and classic folk

6pm   Cowichan Valley Storytelling Group Presents  -  a monthly event at the Duncan Showroom, some of the storytelling guilds gather to maintain the ancient art of storytelling

7pm   Steph McPherson  - callingVictoria home, this singer / songwriter has grabbed our attention since we first heard  her a couple years back, you will enjoy her, of that we are sure - a voice you will remember, singing lyrics that allow the imagery to shine thru, she is one of our special musical treats

Noon  Dan Fougère - founding fiddler in Bijou du Bayou, he calls Lake Cowichan home and so loves playing all sorts of folkie type style songs

1pm   Bruce Cates  -an American folk musician who spends ½ his time in the valley, always brings a friend or two on stage each year

2pm   Dusty Roads-two veteran performers in a country folk tradition, 2 acoustic guitars, a harmonica and vocals – great to watch how much fun they have

3pm   Sam & Adam -flute / guitar and sometimes vocals, have watched these two find each other musically- a splendid experience                 

4pm   Zach Thompson -  songwriter and a singer of folk-rockers and  heartbreakers homespun in the Cowichan Valley,                  

5pm   Rebekah Hawker – a country-folk singer-songwriter that is really real - she brings along her pedal steel player during this tour

6pm   Duane Watson / Chris Andres  - two outlaw country singer/songwriters that are charted on many ‘radio’ stations across North America  

7pm  Angelica & The Challengers - original soul, gospel, funk, reggae and blues—join them on a musical journey through the depths, heights, and profoundness of the human experience.

Noon Adage Rock Band- Adage School of Music does so much for the youth in this community who want to be musicians- tis group is excited to showoff

1pm      Victory Lap -a high-octane family rock band (two families with dads and their teenage sons) specializing in classic rock covers themed around cars, travel, and places. Expect searing guitar solos, powerful vocals, and a driving rhythm section, all celebrating the open road and the spirit of rock and roll.

2pm   Hillfillies –locally based eclectic folk /rock band with an acoustic blues vibe providing thought provoking original tunes and foot-stompin’ fun while featuring 3 part harmonies and awesome harmonica solos

3pm   Jon Cohen   - from Toronto on a Canadian tour, a high energy set of hooky, danceable, lyrical songs, built in real time, blending guitar, bass, synths, vocals and percussion into evolving electronic textured grooves                                    

4pm   Mashoko- traditional Zimbabwean mbira

5pm   Karen and the Managers-  a cover band from Sidney, they have a groove and the female vocalist up front really knocks it out of the park

6pm   11th Hour - one of the Cowichan Valley dance bands will be performing classic rock, R&B and country rock so as to fill our dance floor

7pm   Madison Blues Band - been firing up stages with a powerful mix of originals and blues classics inspired by legends like Koko Taylor, Etta James, Buddy Guy, and B.B. King so come prepared to dance even just a little bit

2pm   CaHoots – think country swing with this trio of dudes over 50 from the Sannich area – great players

3pm   Stone Poets- bringing together an extraordinary blend of poetic lyricism and emotionally powerful instrumentation, they create exceptionally moving music that genuinely matter

4pm   Magnolia Buckskin- three Alberta gals featuring gorgeous three part harmonies utilizing guitar /banjo/mandolin/accordion and bass to deliver a blend of indie bluegrass, folk, and acoustic pop music 

5pm   Mary Murphy - rooted in her Irish-born soul, her music grows from tradition while extending into the wider folk landscape- performing as a duo

6pm   St. Cecilia’s  - 3 singer / songwriters from Victoria join forces to aid each others writings

7pm   Pozitive Rebellion – gonna get some original reggae tunage making us all wanting to bust out  our fave moves

Noon John Ivision – came to a Dress Rehearsal Tuesday (aka: open mic) at the Duncan Showroom one Tuesday evening guitar in hand and after 3 original songs he was asked to perform at the festival

1pm   Bob Wilson  - a time to sit and  listen to classical guitar performed under the trees in a park with gentle breezes wafting thru taking away all your cares and woes momentarily- might want to be there

2pm   Gravitation - Bill Hamilton has teamed up with his friend Burke Rosen to bring us some fine ‘folk’ music

3pm   Warmland Dance-collaborative community fostering creativity, a love of the arts and excellence among peers                                    

4pm   Tristan Longman  - singer / songwriter from Port Alberni that was endorsed by the Keeling Sisters who are on after her- it will make sense if you show up

5pm   Corrina Keeling and Jessica Dawn Keeling – 2 sisters join forces with their amazing vocals with guitar / bodhrán /cello and whatever else is handy- splendid music being made just for us                           

6pm   Neavv  -  living on Gabriola , from Toronto, a singer/songwriter/producer who knows how to write songs that suit  her abilities to give strong performances of each song                                    

7pm   Kylie Fox - a Canadian singer songwriter, touring and recording artist fusing folk storytelling with vintage elements of jazz and alternative rock

Noon Kent Ball – the man you want at your family gathering bbq to make sure they have a good time

1pm  ANEMARA -a dynamic collaboration, merging traditional and original music from both sides of the Atlantic  with two fiddles, harp, cello, stepdance, and four-part vocal harmonies,

2pm  The White Kids – brother and sister Eric and Alyssa White, sometimes  combine forces and do their songwriting thang together- this is one of those times

3pm  Kathy White Dancers - a weekly chance to watch young Scottish dance  students perform to their bestest- photo-op extraordinaire

4pm  Rockland Moran-acoustic blues guitar with an intimate understanding of the blues songs he chooses to perform

5pm  Don Wilke Trio - valley singer/songwriter and slide guitar whiz, now as a trio, brings tradition and originality to the blues genre when he performs

6pm  David Essig-solo – an elder of the Canadian folk blues genre is in the room- please listen up                                    

7pm  Thor  Jonsson  Band – 5 piece valley band that knows how to boogie, an island favourite seen regularly hosting the Sunday Nanaimo Blues Jam at the Queen’s

3pm     Community Talks- various groups and topics strut what they are about - Cowichan Green Community / History of the Folk Life Pavilion from Expo 86  / photobiomodulation and your health- Josh Crawford / Oxygen and Your Body with Bill Code / Islands Folk Festival History

4pm     North Easton – from Ottawa, a travelling gem of a musician performs every where he can to spread his good vibes and observations of life

5pm     PixElle – these three local gals got together some years back, took a hiatus during the Covid thang and stuck their heads up last year for the festival and they offered to do it again this year- such a musical treat these three are

6pm     Rae and Scott – these two wonderous voices that so appreciate the R&B genre found each other and the joy with glee that emits when they perform is something to behold                             

7pm     Songwriters in the Round   - where 3 performers trade off 3 songs each in a panel fashion and yes,  discussion ensues  -this week  will be -Brian Hazelbower /Cara McCandless /Daniel Cook

Noon  Tonia Hill / Scott McGill  - Tonia started off as a musical student of Scott’s and these slots at the festival over the years have become a ritual for them to show off Tonia’s abilities

1pm    Dogma 96    - been a part of the festival since its beginning and even before that in earlier DCFS programming-singer songwriter and leaning towards folk noire     

2pm    Kate Stott – an artist / singer-songwriter, met her at an open mic in Victoria and was impressed with her attitude, she performed last year and performed at the Duncan Showroom this spring

3pm   Canada’s Best Karate - Sensai Jordan brings his many students to the park to showcase what they have learned so far in their martial arts classes – put your phone on video for this one

4pm   Woodgrove Way   - a valley acoustic 4 piece that get together to enjoy the vibe of performing music with each other and this is their fourth year at the festival in this configuration                                

5pm   Jenny Allen -on the island from Calgary, she appeared at the very first Islands Folk Festival 42 years ago and many since- one of those relevant singer/songwriters that continue to be a positive folk singer

6pm   Glen Foster & Maggy - an accomplished singer-songwriter, entertainer and multi-talented musician, he has been performing professionally for more than 40 years and has released 10 albums of his own original compositions of which you will hear today as his wife joins him onstage

7pm   Beverly McKeen and her Sweet Band - one of the valley’s more well known singer/songwriters always shines brighter when she has her full Sweet Band behind her

3pm  Carlson’s Showcase –the youth look so forward so much to performing on a stage for everyone

4pm  Kele Fleming -LGBTQIA2S+ singer/songwriter from Victoria these days 

5pm  FAB Orca Star -a group of queer musicians living and playing on the traditional territories of the Hul'q'umi'num people

6pm  Matthew Presidente- ‘Matty’ from Vancouver, a very flamboyant LGBTQIA2S+ singer on keys that will definitely entertain you

7pm  Elise LeBlanc –a poet at heart she/they are inspired by the romance of wild things, heavily influenced by classic country, Appalachian and western swing her songs explore queer desire, betrayal, hope and nature lore-her gentle twang and rich vibrato nods to classic crooners Patsy Cline and Peggy Lee

1pm   Cowichan Pipes and Drums - an annual hit, finding what pipers and drummers play when they are not marching

2pm   Goldswing  - you can call this trio a purveyor of folk music                

3pm   The Weathered – newly formed duo with great original tunes delivered in a folk fashion    

4pm   Oktopus  -8 piece klezmer band from Montreal on tour had time to perform for us                                 

5pm   Oktopus   - yes, this klezmer party is on for over an hour                             

6pm   David Vest  and his whole Band – performing the Dawn of Rock n Roll – the music of  Elvis, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, etc - played by an artist who was there when it all got started.

7pm    David Vest and his whole Band – yes, it is at least a 90 minute show

Noon Jarid Soulfire  -a valley singer / songwriter who has found his own niche, almost folk noire and when choosing a cover song, he owns it 

1pm    Naomi Payan – originally from France she has called the valley home for quite awhile now-excellent singer and a songwriter

2pm    Local Lovers – a local duo that pull off a roots/pop/rock feel with their originals that stay with you- very impressed with the writing and the delivery

3pm   Warmland Dance – the performances they bring to the 39 Days is a work of art

4pm   Birdbelly  - from farming in Alberta, she still finds the time to write and sing some very fine tunage worth listening to- accompanied with stand up bass player – Canadiana folk roots country we made sure we gave another slot tomorrow at noon before she heads off                       

5pm   Joe Stanton - from the Sunshine Coast we convinced this fine singer/songwriter to venture over to the valley with his guitar and well written originals – very good storyteller                                                                                                           

6pm   Oceanique – these two gals are from Australia on a Canadian tour, we were so impressed at the Folk Alliance Conference in Montreal last year to say yes, you get here and we will give you stage time

7pm   Orchid Orchestra -a Vancouver-based indie pop band blending hip-hop, choral, and theatrical influences into dynamic, heartfelt music –slightly off the wall and so enjoyable

3pm  Kathy White Dancers -these young dancers do some serious touring to highland dance competitions always coming back with many awards

4pm  Doug and the Buds- blues trio from Saltspring, that recently performed at the Showroom, that needs be heard- great grooves

5pm  Augie Dawg & the Blues Benders - valley’s own harmonica man along with some musical friends play the blues as they  sees it     

6pm  Brandon Isaak – solo - 3 time Canadian Blues Awards winner, Maple Blues winner and nominee/ Juno nominee and just a really nice guy to hang with for these 50 minutes

7pm  James Vickers Band -  coming up 17 soon he is making his mark not just as a good blues / rock guitar player but his stage presence is awesome –his vocals possessing the songs - he also has a City Square Stage coming up as well

Noon  Salah Telford –yet another young songwriter shows up at a Dress Rehearsal Tuesday at the Showroom (open mic) and immediately after she got off stage we offered a slot at the 39 Days

1pm   Conor / Loni Searl – luthier / guitar teacher in the valley for years we managed to get him and his wife on stage for a public performance

2pm   Brian Gauci – a very fine acoustic guitar player whose jazz and blues compositions make for a nice 50 minutes  of your life

3pm   Open Mic – only one open mic this year so register asap at the sound booth- one song each –room for 7 performers

4pm   the HumbleBees  - guitar and stand up  bass speaking of the needs of mother earth and the self  nurturing we all need                           

5pm   Ed Peekeekoot – a songwriter, a singer, a guitarist (think Chet Atkins), a fiddler, a flautist and for today his wife and son will be joining him on stage 

6pm   Shake’n’Cor Trio -   a roots blues - husband - wife duo consisting of singer songwriter/percussionist Corry Suter, & Shakey Reay Suter on harmonica, keyboards & vocals with their good friend Ray joining them on guitar               

7pm   Songwriters in the Round   - where 3 performers trade off 3 songs each in a panel fashion and yes,  discussion ensues  -this week  will be - Mary Egan /Steve Cutler / Naomi Payan

1pm    Gravitation -duo from Victoria, Bill Hamilton and Burke Rosen are  folk, roots, blues and originals 

2pm    Steph Cutler – 1/3 rd of Firebird, she is so energized to able to be spending more time on her music and it shows

3pm    James Hamilton - just under an hour of soothing sitar music wafting thru the park                   

4pm    Marten Borch- a singer / songwriter known for his raw authenticity, heartfelt lyrics and a deep commitment to using music as a tool for connection and change, music that’s meant to make you feel, think and move    

5pm    Zonnis   - a duo from Victoria, husband and wife,  have some tight harmonies and they write great tunes- just finished a tour of New Zealand earlier this year               

6pm    Terry Doyle  - living in Ladysmith , this Irish troubadour writes some pretty fine tunes as well as performing the occasional traditional 

7pm    Ryan Oliver / Richard Underhill -  two funtastic and much awarded Canadian jazz saxophone players on the same stage, this quartet will be a journey worth witnessing

4pm    Road Poets – off Gabriola for a day,  they bring their original tunes to the Cowichan Valley in a very talented  And most enjoyable fashion               

5pm    The Weathered - a newly formed duo featuring Michelle of the group From the Earth along with Ryland Glass on guitars  / violin and vocals

6pm    James Meyer and Agriculture Appropriation  - James, of musical theatre fame, gathers his musical friends to have some musical fun 

7pm   Anneda and the Float –taking a year off from performing to bring a beautiful child into the world, it is now time to pay for a babysitter so they can drive up to Duncan, get on the stage, plug in and take us for a marvelous musical journey

2pm    Renfrew Road -yep, they live on Renfrew Road, well at least the main songwriter and his family do and his buddies gather to make musical sense of his endeavours

3pm   The Wilds -  led by singer/songwriters Holly Arntzen—vocals, dulcimer, piano, and Kevin Wright—vocals, percussion. When Holly and Kevin sing and write songs together, think Joni Mitchell meets Bon Scott ( of ACDC)

4pm   Clarissa and the Black Clouds  - local gal has a new musical project and with this new band to back her they will entertain you

5pm   Carmine  -  a four-piece female fronted alt-rock band from Victoria, BC, formed in 2024. Their first four singles earned them a loyal and growing fanbase on social media, as well as The Zone 91.3’s Band of the Month spotlight and Music BC’s spotlight of the week. Carmine’s sound ranges from the gritty and spiteful, to the sweet and playful, unafraid to explore emotional and sonic depths while remaining true to their alt-rock, indie roots.

4pm    Carol Sokoloff – a Vancouver Island singer/songwriter whose passion for song spans genres from roots to jazz- and some friends will be joining her

4pm   Lola Parks  - with a voice as seductive as it is soulful, this soul folk po singer-songwriter weaves jazz roots into modern with effortless grace- lives in Victoria

5pm   Blue Dirt Girl - is Kathryn Sutherland vocals/electric guitar and Albert Klassen bass/harmonies - playing 11 singles off their new album LOVE ADJUSTED -original all genre free songs

5pm    Eugene Smith and co. – the great Eugene Smith has many friends and much respect in the music world and some of them will join him today – at 82 he sounds better than ever

6pm    Nicholas Campbell - from Peterborough Ont., bringing a fine sense of rockabilly / roots country feel to the forefront, this trio will blow you away

5pm  Dirty Harriet – heavy hard  rock best describes this band who have been in the valley forever- still given’er

6pm  Fighting Words- Lennon has found some fine local musicians to collectively work on his most excellent rap writings, you know, bringing in that extra punch – most enjoyable and loud

Noon Theo Massop – with Pete Surridge on bass, the songs off the new LP are about to be released to the general public today, specifically for us  singer/songwriter from up island                             

1pm   Chris Baron – Oregon resident doing two shows with us this tour, Chris brings along a cello player to brighten everyone’s day

2pm   Elena Erin  -   her sound, characterized by a blend of pop, electronic, and folk elements, showcases her versatility as she plays multiple instruments, including piano and guitar and her introspective lyrics are noted by listeners for their authenticity and powerful personal experiences                                                       

3pm   Piano  Recitals – Kristi / Brenda / Michelle / Damien - encouraged a piano teacher and two of her students and the son of one of those students to come on stage to showcase where their lessons have got them to

4pm   The Big Mess -father and son who perform alongside their self made back tracks with trumpet and vocals – we continue to bring them back to the festival cause people just like them so much         

5pm   Lost Talkers –a Vancouver Island pop-rock and indie band based in Victoria, BC. That  perform original music inspired by Vancouver Island small-town life and the West Coast Roots scene

6pm    Big Little Lions -  having performed at every major Canadian folk festival, the duo of Helen Austin and Paul Otten  is a blissful marriage of new folk and sophisticated pop - we are fortunate  they were in the area and available

Noon  Anneda – heard her one year at the farmers market in Duncan and have been attempting to make it possible for more people to hear

2pm   Kerrington Gillespie –south island  teen singer/songwriter that can sing real could and wants to be on stage- she will get her wish for  a long time to come- witness her now      

3pm   Kathy White Dancers – cute, cute, cute- so precious watching the young ones bring their A game to the stage

4pm   Renovation Blues Band  - these island boys have originals and covers that will rock you out with a solid blues delivery

5pm   Chris Noel and the Burning House – stand up bass, tender guitar licks and solid drumming, gonna be a good time had by all

6pm   Gerry Barnum - an excellent singer/songwriter, front man and side man for island blues bands or any project requiring a solid harmonica player, a one man act that can get you up dancing

7pm   Helen Davies Band -  there are queens of the blues on this island and one of them is definitely Helen Davies and with this stellar band of excellent musicians the dance floor should be full

4pm   Late Kate -her voice has been called sultry, and when she sings the blues it's powerful and earthy. A dynamic, personable performer, Kate’s “captivating voice and infectious rhythms” will have your hands clapping and toes tapping

5pm   Paul & Joshua Gellman – piano / guitar  and vocals, father and son get to perform together because of this festival

6pm   Jared Popma and friends-singer/songwriter born in the valley and now a Nanaimo resident, his music is a true observation of his wonderfully almost naïve pureness / honesty

2pm    Jonathon Churcher - singer / songwriter who brings his past history of being afforded the privilege to hang out in the far north and bring those observations to us through his songs

3pm    Martin Nolan / Terry Doyle  - a wonderful taste of Ireland from these two young lads-Aeolian pipes alongside acoustic guitar and superb vocals create a marvelous musical journey                         

4pm    Trevor Davies Trio – performing from his latest works this local, very fine jazz guitarist brings along some musical friends to impress those works on you        

5pm    Kye Goski -from Courtney area this young singer sometimes songwriter is someone to watch out for - w Bob Goski, David Denz and Barbara Denz

5pm     Reid Williams- local singer/songwriter extraordinaire-some people and words go together oh so well to become  observations of moments in time that take you to those moments- this guy is special

6pm    Monte and the Pythons- having hosted many years of musical jams throughout the valley, this well known performer has a good team of players as of late and the journey taken on these original tunes is worth your time

4:20pm – Canada Day Cake Sharing – line up at the corner of the train station

5pm   Offcutz  - valley based band doing countrified folk covers delivered with spunk and finesse

6pm   Hill 60 -original tunes delivered by this valley 5 piece acoustic band quite sufficiently

7pm   McCandless Family Band –Dad came over from Ireland on a boat and in true Canadian form ended up having a family that became a wonderful band of fine musicians

1pm  Kele Fleming -   LGBTQIA2S+ singer/songwriter from Victoria these days 

2pm  Matthew Presidente- from Vancouver, a very flamboyant LGBTQIA2S+ singer on keys that will definitely entertain you

3pm  Forte School of Music    local music school presents some of their vocal students as a treat for them and audience alike

4pm  Bardavissa  - Barbara and David Denz (Campbell River) with Mitch and the Baroness' Elissa Barron (Cobble Hill) performing folk music - original and borrowed from musicians around the world, including World Stage Premiers of brand new songs.

5pm  Nice Verdes  -a gypsy styled freedom emits from these two as they touch into south American culture and their Australian experiences  

6pm  Kye Goski  -from Courtney area this young lad has landed a slot at Filberg Festival this year as well- someone to watch out for - w Bob Goski, David Denz and Barbara Denz

7pm  St. Cecilia -'All-female tribute band to ‘Women in Music’ by Victoria singer/songwriters

Noon Brass, Wind & Rhythm -a 10-12 piece local swing band made up of members from young to the young-at-heart, the core of the group have been playing together for years

1pm  Harmonica Band  - a bunch of seniors get together to play harmonicas on a regular basis, this their recital sort of    

2pm  The Backroom Ukuleles -14 elder ukulele players that get together to play for fun, nothing else !

3pm  Mitch and the Barroness    in the last 7 years Pete and Elissa have amassed a significant body of work that ranges from honky- tonk to folk, blues to country, rock to pop.                                             

4pm  The Blunder Brothers  -2 guys from Lantzville area who write and perform some very poignant and witty songs

5pm  The Konsorados     - banjo/guitar/piano/percussion -  husband / wife duo that write in a country/folk style and perform it well- also from the Lantzville area- 

6pm  The Ecclestons -known for their infectious humour, joyfulness, and harmony, this Victoria based band has a massive Celtic and Canadian repertoire alongside solid songwriting 

7pm  From the Earth  -  a Vancouver Island based alternative-Island-folk duo with uplifting harmonies, catchy ballads, and a wide variety of original and unique cover material -Mike & Michelle deliver relatable lyrics, infectious personalities and a wholesome island attitude

11am Zumba with Roslyn- time to exercise in the park to disco music for another year  

Noon  Simon Sayz - with a voice smooth like sandpaper he brings passion to the covers he chooses                            

1pm   Silverbridge Toastmasters – some interesting storytelling going on here to keep your mind sharp

2pm   Old Growth - original westcoast bluegrass and beyond, elders in the folk world still have a voice and are still very vocal in their observations set to music

3pm   Awakeneers   - timeless contemporary folk music - a nomadic tribe of multi-instrumentalist songwriters (most of whom are siblings) they offer a genre-bending blend of acoustic positivity that orbits elliptically around the idea of folk music                    

4pm   Glenn Foster –-a Canadian singer songwriter, music producer, entertainer, multi-instrumentalist and president of his own companies Rescue Records, and Parent Publishing and Productions, in short he is a “do-it-all-myself” kind of guy and has been performing professionally for more than 40 years- this 3 piece band of countrified rock will make you take note

5pm   Orchid Orchestra  - a Vancouver-based indie pop band blending hip-hop, choral, and theatrical influences into dynamic, heartfelt music –slightly off the wall               

6pm   Polky  - from Toronto, contemporary polish folk/ global roots- led by multi talented female musicians delight audiences with joyful harmonies, unusual instruments and upbeat performances- performing at the Tofino Jazz Festival as well

7pm   Entangados - combining ska, rock, cumbia, salsa and Balkan folk music, En-tangados emanate fun and joy from the stage with the power of 100 suns, this musical band of clowns was formed in 2004 -their show mixes theater and music, filling the stages of the world with energy-dancing, fun, art, and social interaction

Noon Dennis and Andy Show –-no finer way to start a festival than these two, fine tunage and banter puts smiles on faces

1pm  Chuck McCandless-  have always given this folk elder the second concert each year cause he is what folk music is all about

2pm Saritah  - singer/songwriter from Australia, we convinced her to come to come up from a California tour to grace our stage – soulful reggae

3pm Carlson’s   - a given each year is the Teacher –Student Showcase alumni from Carlson’s, dancing into the future on opening day  

4pm Cow Bells  - music students in a band formation doing some pretty cool tunes

5pm Malakai - at 16 years old this young man is destined to shape the music world with his songwriting and his musical prowess

6pm  Arbutus Roots  - alternative original and cover pop rock based out of the Cowichan Valley

7pm  Pozitive Rebellion - a bit of reggae to get those feet moving on opening day by this Cowichan Valley band
