Fri. June 26th
11:50am Della Rice - welcoming prayers
Noon Dennis and Andy - no finer way to start a festival than with these two performers, fine tunage and banter putting smiles on faces- and they wrote a song about the 39 Days
1pm Chuck McCandless -a mainstay of folk music, this Irish singer / songwriter boated from Ireland and landed up in Manitoba and who now calls the valley home, was there in the beginnings of the Winnipeg Folk Festival and uses his vocals and long necked banjo in a Pete Seeger -ish kinda way
3pm Ronen & Kate - yes, we are presenting not only an excellent accordion player and teacher, his singing wife will be joining him as well
4pm Steve Cutler - a local singer/songwriter who chooses some of the finest songs to cover when not presenting his own tunes
5pm Local Lovers - wife and husband team, she writes and sings the songs and he brings on the rhythms to guide them
6pm Rad Mammals – local duo focused on Reid’s great songwriting skills with Alan Cameron on drums pushing the songs along
7pm Porter Brothers- local farm country-rock band has been a hit every year and so we figured what a good way to end the first day in the park
