Hey, it’s the weekend, make sure  you get out in the evening, enjoy some live music, maybe dance up a storm with your community if the music is applicable, then possibly head over to the City Square Stage and catch one of our weekend concerts based on Musical Nostalgia (musical tributes to the music we remember) starting at 8:15pm.

Fri. July 7th

@ The VITALS Stage in the Park

4pm - Level Crossing – Some fine music that jumps genres by Mike Regimbal -guitars / Dee Cooper -keysboards / Wayne Briscoe -drums.

5pm - Low Winter Sun - Guitar and cello driven rock from this 4 piece band from Victoria,...quite pleasant, check them out their recent concert on YouTube Duncan Showroom channel

6pm - Stone Poets - A trio, they create exceptionally moving music that genuinely matters – t heir new album HUMAN drops August 31. Join them to hear their new music as well songs from their body of work

7pm - Pinebox Rebellion - These seasoned players have their own genre, kinda rockish indie pop that works real well and creates a fun energy and they have been recording new tunes as of late

8:15pm - Let the Good Times Roll - Local boys are big Cars fans and even tho there is no one on keyboards these guys will make it work, their love of this music shines ( you will be surprised how many songs you remember)


Sat. July 8th

@The VITALS Stage in the Park

4pm - Salty Dog - Roots country, almost Americana, they have been putting in the time to bring it all to the stage, think ol’ timey music kinda feel.

5pm - Elise Boulanger - Chamber, folk & pop artist, a bilingual multi-instrumentalist and environmental advocate that creates cinematic dreamscapes.

6pm - The Awakeneers - Honest vocals sweetened with multi part harmonies and supported by rich acoustic instrumentation, a nomadic band of multi-instrumentalist songwriters, most of whom are siblings.

7pm - The Ecclestons - ‘Full Contact Folk’ best describes what they bring to the stage and after fourteen years together as a band siblings Colleen (guitar and vocals) Kelt (bass, penny whistle, and vocals) and adopted brother Greg Madill (bouzouki, mandolin, bodhran and vocals) are here to entertain in their very enthusiastic celtic fashion.

8:15pm - Marimba Muzuva - One develops a love for marimba music, it moves your soul and your body, yes, dancing is something you will want to do so come prepared to let yourself randomly boogie.


Fri. July 14th

4pm - Snuff and the Snufftones - R&B, old blues standards, mixed up and shakin’-done up in a fast rockin’ way

5pm - Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boppers - Play roots music and gut bucket hillbilly boogie.

6pm - Chris Andres - Multi award winning alt/country, rugged, ragged and most fulfilling to the soul.

7pm - Born Reckless - Country rock band from Victoria that writes real good tunes and are very much worth watching.

8:15pm - Zappostrophe - This exciting new project explores the demanding music of the iconoclastic composer Frank Zappa. Choosing selections from different eras of Frank’s career, the music is played with excitement, precision, and humour by an 8 piece band from Vancouver

4pm - Pony Gold - West Coast Americana band Pony Gold deliver timeless and refreshing songs about escapism, purpose, love and loss.  The duo’s sound, led by lead songwriter and singer Theresa Bromley and guitarist Matt Bromley, emphasizes vocals and slide guitar with an alt country attitude that lands between Lucinda Williams, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. 

5pm - Actual Human People - From Victoria, their unique approach to indie folk utilizes ambient textures and lush harmonies, and has quickly garnered a small but passionate fanbase in their home city.

6pm - Arbutus Roots - West coast rooted, high energy, acoustic guitar driven music from this Cowichan Valley indie-folk pop band that just released a new project.

7pm - Shale - A polished alternative young rock band from Victoria BC, their recent videos are getting them much acclaim and we thought you might like to check them out again.

4pm - Genevieve Charbonneau - Recent release of a new single, that has been critically acclaimed, this valley resident needs people to know of what caliber of talent resides in our community.

5pm - Gord Phillips Band - Coming up from Sooke, Gord’s style of music is best described as folk rock, an eclectic songwriter his songs range from rootsy rhythms combined with story teller lyrics to up beat blues rock.

6pm - Andrea Smith - Solid vocals, excellent guitar work, writes great tunes and always finds a few other peoples songs that she breathes a fresh new life into.

7pm - Blackwood Kings - A progressive musical fusion from the Canadian left coast - Dub / reggae / ska / punk and whatever else.

8:15pm - Relics – Early Pink Floyd, performing the music of early Pink Floyd, bring seatbelts for your lawn chairs.

Sat. July 22nd

@ The VITALS Stage in the Park

4pm - Skye Alexander - Canadian born singer/songwriter is grounded in the traditional music of the British Isles and North America- her expressive voice evokes the ballad singers of a bygone era, while with her poetic lyrics and Americana inspired melodies capture modern stories about loss, abuse and heartbreak. Accompanied by violinist Joshua Miszczak.

5pm - Jared Popma - A local singer/songwriter who brings along fine fellow VIU Jazz alumni to showcase his tunage.

6pm - Kelly Hunt - From New Orleans these days, she brings an Appalachian feel to the festival with her lilting vocals, frailing banjo and her musical accompanist on violin - it is a huge treat to have Kelly perform here once again.

7pm - Taylor Fance - Local singer/songwriter with a good band working with him to deliver his original tunes.

8:15pm - Sticky Fingers - Of course it is a tribute to the music of the Rolling Stones.


Fri. July 28th

4pm - Terry Marshall - Acoustic guitar solo singer of great cover tunes, in the band Sutcliffes out of Victoria.

5pm - Ben Sures - A very fine and witty singer/songwriter, superb guitar player bringing along a stand up bass playing accompanist.

6pm - Monte and the Pythons - A valley boy, a singer/songwriter with a very cool band showcasing his finely crafted originals.

7pm - Rumblejam Grooves - 7 young jazz musicians from the Comox Valley lookin’ to be heard and what better audience than our attentive festival goers.

8:15pm - Motown Revue - This island band brings along their female singer friend who likes to walk thru the musical streets of Motown with the eloquence and the soul it deserves...bring your dancin’ shoes along.

4pm - Q - A fantastic violin player / singer /songwriter, they have branched out from the much awarded Bachand folk/ roots duo to explore their personal muses.

5pm - Hanna Elise - A vocalist / songwriter with soul searching introspective music along with some fine added players to round it out.

6pm - Positive Rebellion - A reggae band brings their musical vibes to the table to celebrate this day of anniversaries

7pm - Bijoux du Bayou - ‘Infectiously danceable Cajun tunage’ are the words that come to mind with this band formed over 20 years ago in the valley.

8:15pm Clapton Chronicles local musicians from Big Awesome do a great job of recreating the music and history of Eric Clapton’s effect on modern music.

Fri. Aug. 4th

4pm - Graham Strang / Leenie - Freshly returning from their first cross country ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ tour, two young west coasters, that totally enjoy performing, planned their tour around our festival date – come see why we agreed.

5pm - Andrea Smith - A vocal treat and pretty good guitar player, graduate of the VIU Jazz program years back, she continues to express her environmental and humanity concerns thru her music

6pm - Robin Ramalho - Robin plays his Ukulele fast, hard and with a traditional flare. His songs ooze with a 60s vibe and are loaded with pop sensibility. He will be accompanied by Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees John Dryden.

7pm - Murray Atkinson Trio - From Ladysmith and the lead guitarist for Canada’s legendary ‘Odds’, Murray has his own little project, another good and loud power trio featuring his songwriting skills.

8:15pm - Beatlemania Unplugged - A local vocal acoustic Beatles tribute band that perform songs from the Beatlemania era. From the Beatles first album Please Please Me to their sixth album Rubber Soul, Beatlemania Unplugged replicate the John, Paul, and George vocals as on the original recordings.

4pm - The Stolen Hearts - Based out of Surrey BC, their material is 100% original and their sound has been described as modern rockabilly with blues and country flavoring.

5pm - Hell Katz - Local rockabilly trio that brings it to the stage justa flyin.’

6pm - Belly Dancing Extravaganza - Georgia Foster has once again invited some of the many island belly dancers to gather for a most colourful display of belly dancing fun and camaraderie.

7pm - Belly Dancing Extravaganza - Make sure you get pics of all the colourful costuming.

8:15pm - Supernatural - Santana Tribute – A six piece band of incredible performers deliver the experience of a Santana concert with all the energy and musicianship of the real thing. Spanning an over 50 year career the show takes the audience through all of Santana’s greatest hits and modern classics
